Three weeks ago I requested photocopies from LDS, but the microfilms containing two of the records I requested were badly damaged, and they did not send copies. Instead, they suggested to visit my closest Family Research Center, and extract the info directly from the microfilm. Unfortunately, the center closest to me does not have these films, so I need your help. These are the two records:

Rudy and Esperanza,

Congratulations on the discovery of your connection, the excitement is palpable and there's nothing like it, to finally make that familial connection.

That's what brings us to this group, the hope that we'll learn about ourselves by learning about our ancestors, and if in the process we make a connection with a family member, it's a homerun.

Good Evening,

I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself to the group. I have just recently begun to research my family roots. I am new to this so please be patient with me until I get up to speed with all of you!!! It has been a difficult task obtaining famly information since most of the family with the key information has passed on. The branch I am currently focusing on is for my Paternal Munoz & Macias lineage. My Grandfathers name was Jose Gutierrez Munoz who was born in Tlachichila, Zacatecas in 1897. My grandfathers parents names were Magdaleno Munoz & Nolberta Gutierrez. The only other info I have on this line is the name of my gg grandfather Rafael Gutierrez. From what I am told Rafael had two wives. However, no one remembers their names! Any help with this branch would be very welcome. Nolberta Gutierrez had siblings by the names of: Margarita, Thomasa, Basilia & Rafael. Magdaleno Munoz had only one sister by the name of Diega who married a Santellan.

I found a web site: which describes how to get assistance in obtaining compensation. If you carry out a google search on "bracero" you will find a lot of reading material.

I don't know, I just spent time with my Tia Esperanza and some of my cousins in Dixon the other day. She still lives in the small town they are from in Acatic. My Tia Maria and her husband live there part time also. Most of my cousins live here now. I have a cousin in Sacramento, Tula, and her sister Lisa lives in San Antonio Tx. I have no idea what their last names are now. I also have a Tia Irma still living in Acatic. My father is Antonio DeLaTorre Gutierrez, I have 2 Uncles still living one in California and one is in Texas right now. Where are your's from.

Hello,

Back in 2002 my wife, Figen and I were involved in a serious car
accident in which a drunk driver crashed into us. We survived but I was
out of work for about 6 months and during that time I googled "Puentes"

Que tal,

I saw your posting on your website.  The Hermosillo family name is truncated from the Casillas family name.  We've been using birth certificates and previous work done by Alberto Casillas in his book titled the "Casillas" to trace back the Casillas family .

Claudia, I'm still unclear as to your question. I have a branch of
Rubalcabas in my ancestry, mostly from Yahualica but I think they originate
in Nochistlan, Zacatecas. I know there is a town of Rubalcaba, south of

Dumb question...

How do we know whether certain Gonzalez families are "Hermosillo or "Rubalcaba, or...?"
Is there a way to figure this out if a record does not specify? Are certain towns/villas presumed to be Gonzalez de xxx???

Lester,

I am confused. I found this website about several "Ruta de Plata"s in Europe and the New World. It has a map of the Mexican Ruta de Plata that goes from Mexico City northward to Santa Fe, and branches from Mexico City to the ports at Acapulco and Vera Cruz. It doesn't show the Ruta going to Nuevo Leon, only through the states of Guanajuato, Queretaro, San Luis Potosi, Zacatecas, Durango, Chihuahua, and ending in Santa Fe in New Mexico. The text only mentions mines and cities along the route through those states.
